Lions Roar in Oklahoma City with Road Conference Win

Box Score

Oklahoma City, Okla. | January 15, 2026 — The Nelson University Lions delivered a complete, physical performance on Thursday night, powering past Mid-America Christian University, 81–67, in Sooner Athletic Conference action inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

Nelson set the tone early, jumping out to a commanding first-half lead behind relentless pace and pressure. The Lions poured in 43 first-half points, forcing MACU into tough looks while capitalizing on transition opportunities and second chances. Nelson never looked back, answering every MACU push with composure and control.

Micah Clark led all scorers with a dominant 31-point performance, attacking the rim, knocking down shots from deep, and living at the free-throw line. Jesse Iweze was a force inside, finishing with 20 points while going 11-for-14 at the stripe and providing a steady presence on both ends. JJ Boling impacted the game beyond the box score, hauling in eight rebounds and helping spark Nelson's fast-break attack, while Trelin Green facilitated the offense and kept the ball moving.

The Lions' depth and defensive intensity proved decisive. Nelson won the rebounding battle 49–44, scored 24 points off turnovers, and held a commanding edge in fast-break points. Even as MACU shot better in the second half, Nelson's early cushion and continued execution sealed the road victory.

With the win, the Lions continue to build momentum in SAC play, showcasing balance, toughness, and maturity on the road.
