Box Score Waxahachie, TX – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball home opener was a dominant one. The Lady Lions swept Arlington Baptist University (ABU), setting the pace early.  From the start of the match the Lady Lions had command of each set and were able to handle everything that ABU could challenge them with. It was an all-around team effort for the Lady Lions as they cruised to another win.

Notable Performers

• Senior Aeriel Horton was on fire all night for the Lady Lions. She was a spark plug for the team when it mattered most.
• Both setters Tori Richard-Burns and Riley Burcham had a great night for the Lady Lions. Their contribution on the court helped lead the Lady Lions to a 3-0 win.
• Freshman Abby Wells had an impressive hitting night, as a freshman she made a notable impact on the court.

How it Happened

• The tag team combination of Riley Burcham and Tori Richard-Burns was a sight to see. Riley Burcham had 21 assists with 13 digs while Tori Richard-Burns had 8 assists.
• Aeriel Horton finished the night with 11 kills, 7 assists and 12 digs. A career high night for her early in the season.
• Sophomore Ava Myers added 10 kills and hit .467 on 21 attempts with zero errors.

• "What a great night for our Volleyball program. We had some very impressive numbers. The biggest number of the night was that as a team we hit .333. We have some things to clean up but I'm very proud of how hard we played tonight."
