The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) volleyball team picked up a huge road win in their final game of the regular season against John Brown University (JBU). In this back and forth matchup, the game came down to the fifth and final set. Both teams were trading sets all night, but the Lady Lions were able to pull out the fifth set 15-13 to win the game. With this victory, there is a rematch on the horizon for both teams as the Quarterfinal Tournament matchups were announced; SAGU will face off against JBU Tuesday, April 6th in Siloam Spring, Arkansas.
Notable Performers
- Alexis Mealer (JR/ Arlington, TX) had a career-high 23 kills
- Ava Meyers (SO/ Round Top, TX) had a double-double for the Lady Lions with 11 kills and 13 digs
- Riley Burcham (SO/ Georgetown, TX) led the Lady Lions with 50 assists and 9 digs
- The Lions finished with 59 kills and 56 assists
