Box Score San Antonio, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions Volleyball team continued tourney play against tournament host Our Lady of the Lake University in the San Antonio ShinDig Tournament Friday, August 26th.
SAGU (6-0, 0-0) defeated Our Lady of the Lake University (2-2) in 5 sets, 25-20, 25-23, 26-24, 25-14, and 15-11 after trailing 2-1 in the match series.

Coming into the match, The Lady Lions continued their flawless 2022 campaign picking up a win against Westcliff University in the San Antonio ShinDig Tournament.

In the first set, The Lions would collect 21 assists in their 25-20 set victory.

In the second set, the tournament host would tie the match series.

In set number three, Our Lady of the Lake won 26-24.

The final play of the forth set was a service error in favor of the Lady Lions to force a fifth and final set.

In the deciding set, a kill by Karena Tipton, assisted by Riley Burcham was the final blow to give SAGU the 15-11 edge.
More from Moore: "Tonight we played a good OLLU team. They really took it to our team. However, in sets four and five our team stepped up and made plays," SAGU Head Volleyball Coach Hank Moore said.
"Again, winning on the road is never easy. This match gives us a lot to look at and evaluate. I'm very proud of these kids for how they keep finding ways to step up to challenges. A great night to be a SAGU Lion." Moore went on to say.

On day two of the San Antonio ShinDig tournament SAGU (6-0) will face Loyola University and Friends University, Saturday, August 26th.
