Box Score San Antonio, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions Volleyball team continued tourney play against Loyola University in the San Antonio ShinDig Tournament Saturday, August 27th.
SAGU (7-0, 0-0) defeated Loyola University (5-2) in 4 sets, 25-14, 25-22, 25-20, and 25-15.

The Lady Lions had just completed a first-day sweep of the San Antonio ShinDig Tournament.

In the first set, it was all SAGU early, for Emma Tompkins would knock down the deciding point giving the Lady Lions a 25-14

A service ace by Ava Myers would give the Lady Lions a 20-18 edge in the second set.

An Ava Myers kill would bounce off the top net and inbounds to give SAGU a 23-21 lead. Emma Tompkins would follow up with a kill of her own, forcing Loyola into a timeout.

Out of the timeout, SAGU would get the set victory from a crafty Riley Burcham kill.

A service ace would give Loyola a 16-14 lead in the third set, and a 2-0 scoring run featuring an ace from SAGU's Lindi Boling would tie the set at 16.

Loyola would avoid the match sweep, responding with a 9-4 scoring run.

Ava Myers and Emma Tompkins would prove too dominant as the SAGU Lions would end the match in the fourth set.
