Oklahoma City, Okla. – Nelson University distance standout Kylie Adams has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Digital Scoreboard Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Adams turned in an impressive early-season performance at the Friends University First Chance Qualifier, placing second in the 3,000-meter run against a strong field that included NAIA and junior college competitors. The sophomore posted a time of 11:29.28, finishing just four seconds behind the event winner and establishing herself as one of the SAC's top distance runners early in the indoor campaign.
Her showing highlighted both consistency and competitiveness, as Adams navigated a deep field while representing Nelson University with poise and endurance in the season's opening stages.
Other nominees for the week included Letticia Campbell (Wayland Baptist) and Chloe Threatt (Langston).
Adams' performance continues to reflect the upward trajectory of Nelson University women's track & field as the Lady Lions build momentum heading deeper into the indoor season.
