Waxahachie, Texas | February 3, 2026 — Nelson University men's track and field standout BJ Clark Jr. has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Clark Jr. earned the honor following a dominant performance at the Wichita State Coach Wilson Invitational, where he won the triple jump with a mark of 15.05 meters, improving upon his NAIA "A" standard.
The leap now ranks as the sixth-longest jump in the NAIA during the indoor season. His continued progression and consistency in the triple jump have positioned him among the nation's elite, as Clark Jr. has repeatedly delivered championship-level performances throughout the indoor campaign.
This recognition marks Clark Jr.'s second SAC Field Athlete of the Week honor this season, further underscoring his impact and leadership for the Lions' track and field program.
Clark Jr. and the Lions will continue their indoor season as they prepare for upcoming meets with an eye toward postseason qualification and national competition.
