Abilene, TX – The Nelson University Track & Field team made noise at the 2025 War Hawk Classic, delivering a dominant performance capped by seven new school records.
The Lady Lions relay squad of
Skylar Morris,
Natalie Guillen, Olyvia Trantham, and Cori Morgan blazed to a new school mark in the women's 4x400. Individually,
Anna Abshier set the standard in the 100m hurdles, and
Robyn Puente reset the program record in the 400m hurdles.
On the men's side,
Jaquarius Gordon scorched the track in the 200m, posting the #11 time in the NAIA. Meanwhile, thrower
Ishmeal Ealoms broke school records in both the shot put and discus.
Montrell Blacknall soared to a new Nelson-best in the pole vault even after breaking his pole on his first attempt.
Head Coach Robert Herrera was pleased with what he saw, stating, "This week gave us a lot of confidence all around. With this momentum, we are now ramping up to achieve peak performances at the conference meet in two weeks."
