Oklahoma City –  Nelson University's Natalie Guillen has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning.

Guillen earned the weekly honor following an impressive performance at the Bill Schmidt Invitational, where she competed in the 1500-meter run against a highly competitive field made up predominantly of NCAA Division I athletes. The standout clocked a time of 5:13.10, securing a ninth-place finish and showcasing her resilience and talent on a big stage.

Her efforts not only reflect her individual growth but also represent a strong showing for the Nelson University track and field program as it continues to build momentum this outdoor season.

Other nominees for the weekly accolade included Inmaculada Delgado of Wayland Baptist and Kristian Nichols of UNT Dallas.

Guillen becomes the latest Lion to earn recognition from the SAC this spring, further highlighting the impact Nelson athletes are making across the conference.
