Fort Worth, Texas — Nelson University Track and Field made a powerful statement at the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship Meet, accumulating the most total points across both men's and women's team competitions. The Lions delivered standout performances all weekend, showcasing depth, heart, and championship spirit.
Women's Recap
The Nelson women led the team standings for the majority of the meet and fought valiantly to the final event. Despite a historic effort, they finished 5th overall — just 8 points shy of the championship in one of the tightest finishes in SAC history.

The Nelson men turned in a dominant performance, earning 6 Conference Champions and 11 All-Conference honors, along with a national qualifying relay performance.
Top Performers:
- Men's 4x100m Relay — National Qualifier with a blistering 40.99 (Isaiah Jean, Jaleel Johnson, Jaquarrius Gordon, Josh Neroes)
- Jaquarrius Gordon — All-Conference Runner-Up in 200m (21.21)
- Isaiah Perez Major — Conference Champion in High Jump and Runner-Up in Triple Jump
- Brandon Clark — All-Conference 3rd in Triple Jump
- Xavier Garcia — All-Conference Runner-Up in Javelin
- Montrell Blacknall — Conference Champion in Decathlon and Pole Vault, Runner-Up in 110m Hurdles, 3rdin Javelin — also named Top Point Scorer of the Meet with 42 total points
- Ishmeal Ealoms — Dominated the throws, winning Hammer Throw, Discus, and Shot Put — an incredible triple crown of victories.
