Waxahachie, TX – Nelson University women's soccer standout Daisy Altamirano has earned her second consecutive weekly honor, being named the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Offensive Player of the Week following a decisive performance in the Lions' conference opener.
Altamirano was instrumental in Nelson's 3-0 victory over Southwestern Christian University, scoring a pair of second-half goals to secure the win. Her relentless attacking presence produced nine total shots, with six on frame, good for an impressive .667 shot-on-goal percentage. Her consistency and ability to finish in key moments continue to set the tone for Nelson as the Lions build momentum early in conference play.
Other nominees for this week's award included Kayleigh Haygood (Oklahoma City), Paula Casajus (Science and Arts), Gabriella Chapa (Wayland Baptist), Abbigail Johnson (Southwestern Christian), Rosina Mastro (Mid-America Christian), and Zoe Roberts (John Brown).
